VOLUNTEER INFORMATION
 

About our event support needs:

 

Clean Air Council's largest annual fundraiser is also Philadelphia's largest Earth Day Celebration. The event features a 5K Run, a 3K Walk, and an environmental fair, which take place on Martin Luther King Drive near the Art Museum. The event requires volunteers for tasks on the day of the event, Saturday April 20, 2013, and during the weeks prior. All volunteers will be rewarded with an event T-shirt and 5K Run gear bag.

 

From early-March to early-April volunteers are needed on an ‘as available’ basis to:

  • Call and recruit previous run participants and aid them with online registration
  • Hang promotional posters throughout Center City

 

During the week of April 8th to April 19th volunteers are needed between 12pm and 6pm to:

  • Assemble event giveaway bags
  • Assemble run timing chips
  • Prepare and work the pre-run packet pick up days

 

On event day, Saturday April 20st, volunteers are needed to:

  • Set up and break down the race course and registration area
  • Register interested participants
  • Check bags and valet bicycles
  • Distribute food and water
  • Recycle and compost waste including water cups

 

Saturday April 20st Event Day Schedule: 

 

- 05:15  Set-up begins

- 07:00  Sponsors arrive

- 07:30  Registration begins

- 08:15  Pre-run yoga stretch

- 09:00  5K Run starts across from the Art Museum

- 09:30  3K Walk starts across from the Art Museum

- 10:00  Earth Day Celebration begins

- 10:15  Awards Ceremony

- 12:00  Breakdown

- 13:00  Unload supply vans at Clean Air Council office
